About
AUTHOR/MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST/EDITOR
Hello. I’m Kymberli Hagelberg, a writer and editor based in Northeast Ohio. On these pages you can see and hear my recent work, read recommendations from clients and colleagues and check out my blog.
Over the years, I have worked in newspapers, public radio, digital media and corporate and issue advocacy communications. In every discipline, I’m connected, respected and I hit deadlines with well-sourced, engaging content.
My work has appeared in major dailies, alternative news weeklies, on National Public Radio and the Web. I currently supervise a staff of a dozen regular writers, photographers, bloggers and columnists for the GateHouse Media weekly newspapers The Jackson Suburbanite, The Suburbanite and The Suburbanite.com. I plan editorial content, develop and implement social media and user engagement strategies as well as edit and produce print and web copy, audio and video submissions. Since taking leadership of The Suburbanite media in 2011, the papers and web site have exceeded every benchmark set for circulation, unique visitors and social media engagement.
My recent multimedia investigation of a fugitive financier was read and heard by more than 1 million people in the Cleveland Plain Dealer and on Cleveland.com.
My first book, Wicked Akron, Tales of Rumrunners, Mobsters and other Rubber City Rogues was released in 2011 by History Press. I am currently completing a book on the tenth anniversary of the Akron Marathon.

Kymberli
